February 2004-September 2007

He was working for the Hellenic Data Protection Authority as an Auditor of Information and Communication Systems. Specifically, he
  1. was responsible for the interconnection of the Information System and the Call Center of Hellenic Data Protection Authority to the Greek Governmental Network "Syzefxis".

  2. participated in the evaluation and monitoring of the project "Procurement and Installation of Call Center and Networking Equipment in the Hellenic Data Protection Authority" funded by EU and Greek Government.

  3. participated in the monitoring of the project "Information System and Electronic Services of the Hellenic Data Protection Authority" funded by EU and Greek Government.

  4. was a member of the Inspection Team of the EC Joint Supervisory Board (JSB) of Data Protection in the inspection of OLAF as for its security which took place in Brussels in 12-15 of June 2007.

  5. was an IT auditor of the Schengen Evaluation team during the inspection of the EU member Cyprus, in July 2006.

  6. was a member of the Hellenic Olympic Security team during Olympic Games of Athens in 2004. Specifically, he did inspections in the data mining systems (autonomy tool, criminal history database), telecommunication infrastructures, CCTVs and Airships that were used during Olympic Games.

  7. was responsible for the Information System and the Telecommunication Infrastructure of the Hellenic Data Protection Authority.

  8. was working on open security methodologies for telecommunication infrastructures.

March 1999-January 2004

He worked for ATMEL Hellas SA as Principal Systems Engineer. Specifically, he worked:
  1. in a project where the enhancement of the Wireless Protected Access (WPA) security protocol of Wi-Fi with the use of smart cards was the target. Specifically, the architecture of the wireless LAN clients of ATMEL (Application layer / Driver Layer / Firmware Layer and Hardware) was reorganized so as a secure memory, which is necessary for the protocol enhancement, to be encapsulated in the client.

  2. in the development of IPSec in the wireless LAN clients of ATMEL. This activity was the first step for the development of wireless LAN clients that can be part of Virtual Private Network (VPN).

  3. in the development of CISCO 's security protocol CKIP in the wireless clients of ATMEL. The target of this project was to add the CKIP security protocol as a feature in the wireless LAN clients of ATMEL so as to be more competitive.

  4. in the development of the security protocol Wireless Protected Access (WPA) in the wireless LAN clients of ATMEL. The product (firmware and chipset) was selected from HP for its wireless printers.

  5. in the design and development of timing analysis and layout algorithms for the CAD tool Figaro which is the CAD tool of ATMEL for its FPGAs (layout and timing).

September 1997 - February 1999

He worked as System Analyst and Programmer in the Computer Center of the Hellenic Airforce and in the School of Airforce pilots in PEA120 during my military service. Specifically, his tasks were:
  1. Password generation, administration and distribution to Hellenic Airforce officers.

  2. System Administration of Hellenic Airforce Systems.

  3. Design and Development of Relational Databases.

  4. Writing flight manuals for Hellenic Airforce pilots.

January 1992- May 1996

He worked as Research Engineer for the Computer Technology Institute of Patras University (CTI) and for the High Performance Computer Laboratory of Athens (Athens HPCL). He worked in the following projects:
  1. ESPRIT Project GEPPCOM (1994-1996). A general framework for the average case analysis of search primitive operations in Content Addressable Memories (CAMs), using as parameters the CAM size m (number of memory words), the memory word length n and the word space distribution was introduced.

  2. Project Tempus (1995) where a set of DSP algorithms was developed in the massively parallel environment of the Parsytec GCel 3/512 massively parallel computer.

  3. ESPRIT project GPMIMD (General Purpose MIMD machines 1993-94) where parallel image processing algorithms have designed and developed in the parallel environment of the GCel 3/512 massively parallel computer.

  4. Project 3LAP (3 Layers Associative Processor 1992-94) where the design of a three layer Associative Processor was the actual result. Besides my research activities, I was system administrator of the Parsytec GCel 3/512 Massively Parallel Computer of the HPCL.

January 1991-December 1992

He worked as Computer Engineer in the project Intralex of CTI in the phase Intralock. In this phase, the design of a gate array of 1.2 micron technology for software locking was completed.

September 1986-June 1987

During his studies in the Computer Engineering and Informatics Department of Patras University (1985-1990), he worked as System Administrator in the Computer Center of Computer Technology Institute (CTI).
