The Actuarial and Financial Mathematics Laboratory was founded by Presidential Decree 323 (Government Gazette, Issue A, 19.11.2002) and serves educational and research needs in the academic fields of Actuarial and Financial Science.
The objectives of the laboratory are:
- To cover teaching and research needs at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in subjects falling within the laboratory's areas of activity.
- To collaborate in all forms with research centers and academic institutions, provided that the scientific goals are aligned with and complementary to those of the laboratory.
- To organize scientific lectures, workshops, seminars, symposia, conferences, and other scientific events, and to invite recognized scientists.
- To provide services to private individuals as stipulated in Presidential Decree 159/1984 concerning the provision of services by university laboratories.
- To collaborate with public bodies, organizations, institutes, and private companies with the aim of contributing to the study and solution of technological problems in the country.
